Do I need skirting or beading?
Although skirting or beading does require extra work, it is essential in order to cover the edges of the floor so to hide any untidy edges on your floor.
Skirting is vital when putting down a floor down in a new build or if your existing skirting needs replacing. Skirting helps hide the gap between the wall and the floor, which is even more vital if the edges of your floor are uneven.
If, however you are wanting to use the existing skirting, you may wish to use beading as this will allow you to present a tidy finish between the floor and skirting. If you are wanting to ensure the perfect finish for your floor it would be advisable to remove the existing skirting first, install the floor then either reinstall your existing skirting or install new skirting that suits your needs.
