Difference between click, square edge and tongue and groove

Click, square edge, and tongue and grove each offer different ways for your floor boards to connect together so to ensure a smooth finish.

One of the most popular floor systems, tongue and grove works by each board of your floor having a long and a short edge which connect together by the tongue on one board fitting into the grove of the adjoining board.

Similar to that of the tongue and grove system, the click system works by two hooked edges connecting together, which then locks in place with a clicking noise.

Square edge offers another fantastic alternative for a floor fitting system. On one side of each board there is a grove cut into the board, whereas on the opposite side of the board is a protruding edge which slides into the grove so creating a seamless fit.
