What is the FSC?
The Forest Stewardship Council, or FSC, is an international organisation that encourages the use of sustainable forest management. Their vision is to ensure that the world’s forests meet the needs of not only the present generations but also future generations to come while also combatting ecological concerns.
Why Choose FSC products?
FSC products use wood that has been collected from sustainable forests where trees that are cut down are replaced with new trees. In order to protect rare animals and plants, the FSC protects certain areas of forest in order to allow the animals and plants to thrive. FSC is endorsed by both the WWF and Woodland Trust.
As well as the environmental concerns, FSC helps protect social concerns as well. The FSC helps protect areas of forest that are used by indigenous people as well as ensuring forest owners use local workers that are thoroughly trained and who are given decent wages.
